Horses Seized in Alberta

One hundred starving horses have been rescued by the Alberta SPCA from an Alberta ranch on March 9/2008. http://ca.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idCAN1223003120080312

Voice for Animals in Edmonton is not happy with the SPCA at all now. Why is the Alberta SPCA getting all the media attention and not Voice for Animals?? Media attention=donations. Animal groups compete with each other for news headlines. The winners are the ones who get to the newspapers first. At one point Voice for Animals was so mad that they called Alberta SPCA "pathetic"

The starving horses is not the big concern here for Voice for Animals, the loss of donation dollars is. If they don't get their name in the paper, they don't get to make their donation pitch. Voice for Animals is very good at what they do, and it's not helping out the starving horses.

Love it. Once again you show your selective treatment of the facts to demonize animal rights. And once again I have either done more research than you, or am choosing to acknowledge more facts than you.

The REASON, albertaboy, that V4A was disgruntled with the ASBPCA is, as you well know (because the only reference to this case I could find is on their facebook group, which uses the term "pathetic" that you have repeated, so I imagine you selectively took your info from there), because the ASPCA rescued the starving horses only to have them prep'd for auction, most likely meaning off to the slaughterhouse. Great "rescue", huh?

And, when the ASPCA conceded and cancelled the auction idea, Voice for Animals applauded the decision, because they ARE concerned about animal welfare and rights.

I'm really starting to enjoy your blog posts, albertaboy, even if they do seem to be discontinued. They are entertaining, though you do make it a bit easy for me. Next time, you should really do your research and present all the facts, ok? Ok.
